Good to know

Before you start

Do not discuss the terms or extent of your insurance with the other party or with anyone acting for them. The policy conditions require every letter, claim, writ or summons you receive about the accident to be forwarded to the company immediately, and written notice to be given as soon as you know of any prosecution arising from it.

Issuing a claim form is not an admission that the claim is covered. What the policy pays depends on the cover you hold: comprehensive, full third party, or third party (Act) only.

Photographs of the damage, receipts and invoices for the loss, and the police report speed up the assessment.
